As the CSR Supervisor, you’ll take the lead in the day-to-day operations of Central Specimen Reception at Mackay Base Hospital, ensuring the seamless handling of specimens that underpin critical diagnostic services. This is a hands-on leadership position where you’ll balance operational excellence with team development.

Key competencies (role specific criteria)

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:

  • A thorough working knowledge and demonstrated competence in all aspects of analytical specimen processing together with a knowledge of laboratory operations in all disciplines.
  • High level of communication skills to enable effective interaction in individual and group situations. Ability to provide training to all levels of staff.
  • Extensive experience and ability to deliver high quality services to clients. Ability to understand and react responsively to client expectations.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills including conflict resolution, negotiation and influencing competencies.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise to effectively manage the customer service function in alignment with the overall strategic plan of the Department.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use computerised systems, basic keyboarding skills particularly for data entry.
