Your new role:

As the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) – Transit Lounge, you will lead a dynamic unit that plays a vital role in patient flow and hospital efficiency. You'll provide advanced clinical and operational leadership, ensuring safe, timely, and person-centred care.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and coordinate patient flow, discharge, and admissions processes
  • Manage staffing, resources, and budget to optimise service delivery
  • Drive quality improvement, safety, and best practice care outcomes
  • Foster a positive team culture through leadership, coaching, and support

About you:

You are a confident and adaptable nursing leader with strong clinical expertise and a passion for improving patient flow and outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

You will bring:

  • Proven leadership experience in acute or patient flow environments
  • Strong skills in workforce management, rostering, and resource allocation
  • Ability to lead change, drive performance, and influence outcomes
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

About us:

The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital (QEII) is a medium metropolitan adult facility providing a range of inpatient and outpatient services including a 24-hour Emergency Department. We provide a range of services, including surgery, cardiology, endoscopy, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, geriatric, respiratory and emergency medicine.

We're making our hospital bigger and better to make it easier for our growing community to get the health care they need. We'll have more beds, medical wards and expanded intensive care and emergency services planned to be opened by 2027.
