As the Senior Business Officer, you will provide oversight, coordination, quality advice and other support with regional:
• financial activities (budget, purchasing, financial reporting and audit functions)
• human resource management (establishment, policy and procedure advice and reporting)
• ICT, telecommunication and fleet
• governance activities (business continuity and business panning) and
• general administration,
in compliance with relevant government and departmental policies, procedures and standards.

As a Senior Business Officer, you will:

  • Provide analysis, advice and support to senior managers on human resource, financial and administrative processes including the development and oversight of human resource, financial and administrative systems.
  • Manage reporting mechanisms for service area cost centres and prepare budgets, forecasts, and cost estimates ensuring adherence to relevant Acts, Regulations and departmental delegations, policies and procedures.
  • Oversee management and implementation and embedding appropriate systems and practices.
  • Monitor and review human resource management and ensure adherence to relevant Awards, Regulations and departmental delegations, policies and procedures.
  • Supervise Business Service Unit staff and monitor workflow and workload management and participate in staff training, appraisal and development. Ensuring admin team competencies are high and their skills/capabilities are enhanced, through training and support.
  • Prepare reports and correspondence on a diverse range of issues as required by senior management. Provide strategic advice to Manager and Regional office.  Provide leadership/advice to the OLT team.  
  • Ensuring contemporary practices and processes are occurring and are routine. Providing surety around financial reporting/payment of vendors.

Role Specific/Technical Skills:

  • You understand finance and human resource management principles in a public sector environment and are a competent user of financial systems and spreadsheet software.

Delegations:

  • This role has Level 8 Financial and Level 7 Human Resource delegations.
