Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and draft reports, correspondence and briefing materials, on teacher vacancy matters for broad audience including the Minister, Director-General and senior executives.
  • Provide expert advice and mentoring to the Teacher Recruitment Team and HR business partners to support schools with applicant eligibility, Permission to Teach applications to the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) and visa and working rights enquiries.
  • Coordinate data quality assurance activities for teacher application systems.
  • Provide subject matter advice on Teacher Recruitment related matters and systems including Permission to Teach, visa processes, teacher recruitment dashboard and development of the HCMS recruitment modules. Whilst knowledge of Department of Education systems is an advantage, transferable skills and ability to rapidly gain knowledge of these systems is highly regarded.
  • Act as key liaison with external agencies such as the Queensland College of Teachers, Department of Home Affairs, Migration Queensland and Queensland Shared Services

Key Attributes we are looking for:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Sound knowledge of Springboard and end to end teacher recruitment in addition to experience using payroll and other HR systems that demonstrate transferability to using Department of Education systems
  • Ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of the department's approach to progressing applications for Permission to Teach to QCT

This role is based in Mary Street (base location not negotiable). Flexible work arrangements may be negotiated with the successful candidate
