The Manager, Research and Statistics will have a major role in developing and leading the Council’s research program according to the priorities set by the Council. The Manager, Research and Statistics will undertake complex research projects independently and will collaborate with the broader Secretariat on a range of joint projects requiring a multi-disciplinary approach.

Your key responsibilities
• Undertake high quality, ethical research, including empirical research into complex sentencing matters, and prepare reports, publications and other information for the Attorney-General, members of the community, the judiciary, government and other stakeholders.
• Develop and lead the Council's research program according to the priorities set by the Council, and provide specialist strategic research advice to the Director, QSAC and the Council.
• Provide high level research advice to the Director, QSAC and the Council on issues relating to sentencing in Queensland and other jurisdictions.
• Prepare complex correspondence and submissions.
• Consult with government and non-government agencies, particularly the judiciary, legal profession, interest groups and members of the community as required, and represent the Council on specialist committees.
• Manage the statistical component of the Council's work.
• Manage the Council's research and statistics team.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with relevant researchers and institutions, and pro-actively identify research opportunities and partnerships.
