About us:
At Central Queensland Oral Health Service, we're passionate about making smiles brighter and healthier across our communities. We take pride in providing accessible, equitable, and top-quality oral health care. We're dedicated to improving oral health outcomes for our clients through evidence-based dental care, all within a strong public health framework.
Our team values teamwork, continuous professional growth, and creating a workplace where everyone feels supported, included, and ready to thrive.
As part of Central Queensland Health, we run nine community dental clinics across the region: from Rockhampton to Emerald, Gladstone, Blackwater, Biloela, Mount Morgan, Woorabinda, and even Capricornia Correctional Centre. We also deliver care through a network of fixed and mobile school dental clinics, so our clinicians can reach children and families wherever they are—bringing smiles to kids' faces and making a positive impact that lasts a lifetime.
About the role:
Are you ready to make a real difference while doing what you love? In this exciting role, you'll deliver top-notch general dental services to eligible clients, using your advanced clinical skills and experience. But it's not just about the teeth—you'll also be a mentor, leader, and support system for Dentists, Dental Students, and Dental Prosthetists across the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS).
Your day-to-day will include assessing, managing, and referring patients to specialists when needed, and performing a full range of clinical procedures. Think: complex extractions, minor oral surgeries, and comprehensive treatments. If a patient needs dental care under general anaesthesia or analgesia, you'll be the one to deliver it, following all clinical credentials and service protocols.
And of course, you'll stay sharp by maintaining your professional registration, adhering to ethical standards, and participating in ongoing professional development—so your practice remains current, evidence-based, and cutting-edge.
About you:
- Current registration as a Dentist with AHPRA and a valid annual practising certificate – ready to get started!
- A license to use radiation apparatus for dental purposes. Safety first, smile second!
- You'll need to complete an application for a Medicare provider number for your preferred CQHHS Oral Health location(s).
- Advanced clinical skills to handle the full range of procedures, from complex extractions and oral surgeries to treatments under relative analgesia and general anaesthesia. No case too tricky!
- Proven ability to mentor and lead, supporting Dentists and students alike while upholding high standards.
- A solid understanding of public health dentistry; delivering fair, evidence-based care to everyone in need.
