System Policy and Planning Division (SPPD) is responsible for leading policy development and service planning across the Queensland Health system. SPPD works to ensure that services are delivered in a responsible and sustainable way, and that they are designed in a way that elevates the voice of clinicians and meet the diverse needs of Queenslanders. This role sits within the Office of Research and Innovation and supports delivery of Queensland Health's Genomics Program.
What you'll do:
This role suits applicants who can deliver high‑quality research and produce clear, well‑structured documents, including briefing notes, memorandums, correspondence, reports, letters of support and project plans. Successful candidates will bring, or be able to quickly develop, an informed understanding of national health and genomics initiatives and current medical research activity to support delivery of genomics initiatives across Queensland Health and ensure advice and delivery remain evidence‑based and forward‑looking.
The position also requires capability in procurement and contract administration, along with sound financial processes aligned with organisational policies. Strong coordination and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, as the role supports program reporting and governance activities to enable compliance and effective oversight across all project activities.
About you:
We're looking for someone who has strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to critically assess and interpret relevant research, policy and program issues. You maintain a high standard of practice through governance and risk management.
