Join the Long-Term Recovery and Resilience team at Community Recovery and support the financial management of the LTRR program through accurate financial assessment, governance, and active monitoring of service delivery ensuring compliance of program expenditure within funding requirements under the Commonwealth Disaster Recover Funding Arrangements (DRFA) program requirements.

In this role, you will provide direct support to the Contract and Engagement team by managing and validating financial information and General Ledgers from suppliers to ensure compliance with contracts, DRFA program requirements, legislation, and departmental standards, while addressing financial non-compliance issues, providing technical advice, and developing processes to enhance financial oversight.

Community Recovery is the lead agency for the provision of human and social recovery support to Queenslanders impacted by disasters including the provision of personal financial support, emotional support and recovery activities.

The Long-Term Recovery and Resilience team (LTRR) establishes and manages long-term recovery and resilience programs to support communities affected by disaster events.

In this Senior Program Officer Finance role, you will provide direct support to the Contract and Engagement team through reviewing and overseeing the collection, management and validation of financial information (including General Ledgers) from suppliers to ensure the appropriate use of funds, accurate financial reporting and compliance with contracts, the Commonwealth Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) program requirements, legislation, and other departmental requirements.

You will provide advice to the Contract and Engagement team through responding to technical queries in relation to financial compliance and eligibility of supplier expenditure in line with the DRFA requirements. You will develop and/or review processes, procedures, guidelines and checklists as required to support the Contract and Engagement Team to manage financial compliance and eligibility of supplier expenditure. You will assist in ensuring supplier financial non-compliance issues are addressed quickly and escalate high-impact or high-risk non-compliance issues to the manager.

The ideal candidate will have advanced written and verbal communication skills to assist a diverse range of stakeholders. You will also possess strong financial acumen with previous experience and/or demonstrated ability to review and analyse financial information, including General Ledgers. Ideally, you will have knowledge or ability to rapidly acquire an understanding of the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements and the Queensland Disaster Management Arrangements.
