The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Administration Officers (Cancer and Blood Disorders) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide quality, efficient and friendly administrative support for the department
- Complete general administration duties regarding daily operations of the department
- Identify, prepare and conduct bulk billing of patients according to medical and diagnostic services
- Provide and assist in the management of patient referrals, clinic appointments and chemotherapy treatments
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- It is a requirement to perform the various responsibilities on a rotational basis with Cancer and Blood Disorders
- It is a requirement to undertake rotational shift rostering to cover the hours from 7.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday
- This position is required to cover rotational shift rostering on Saturdays and public holidays
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)
- This position may be required to work across various departments within the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service

Salary
- Permanent full time and permanent part time (two full time positions and two part time positions, 48 hrs p.f.)
- Base salary ranging from $79 272 - $88 158 per annum, $39.98 - $44.46 per hour

Cancer and Blood Disorders provides services for all cancer patients. The service delivers outpatient care, day therapy treatment, palliative care and a range of support services. The team brings together a range of multi-disciplinary staff which include Allied Health, Medical team, Clinical team and Administration Officers. Staff are highly trained and committed to providing patients with the best care.
