Community Recovery is the lead agency for the provision of human and social recovery support to Queenslanders impacted by disasters including the provision of personal financial support, emotional support and recovery activities.
The Long-Term Recovery and Resilience team (LTRR) establishes and manages long-term recovery and resilience programs to support communities affected by disaster events.
In this Senior Program Officer Finance role, you will support the financial administration of programs under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) including program budgets, forecasts, reporting, reconciliations, and expenditure. You will manage submissions for progress and reimbursement of grant payments and associated expenditure via the QRA MARS portal. MARS is the Management and Reporting System online portal administered by the Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA). You will use SAP to create and extract financial reports and reconcile them with reporting documents from contract management systems. You will liaise with departmental finance business units and the QRA to ensure financial processes for the program support community recovery efforts.
You will also support the collection, review and validation of financial information (including General Ledgers) from suppliers to ensure the appropriate use of funds, accurate financial reporting and compliance with contracts, the Commonwealth Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) program requirements, legislation, and other departmental requirements.
The ideal candidate will have advanced written and verbal communication skills to assist a diverse range of stakeholders. You will also possess strong financial acumen with previous experience and/or demonstrated ability to review and analyse financial information, including General Ledgers. You will have strong proficiency in SAP for financial reporting and reconciliation purposes. Ideally, you will have knowledge or ability to rapidly acquire an understanding of the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements and the Queensland Disaster Management Arrangements.
