About us:

Cenral Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and other Drugs provides specialist mental health, substance and alcohol related care to residents of Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana areas (catchments in excess of a population of 250,000) with services located in each area. Rockhampton is the principal service centre and as such provides the administration of the Mental Health Act, 2016, and is the location of the acute adult inpatient facilities. In addition there is a Adult Step Up Step Down facility located in Gladstone and a Adult Community Care Unit located in Rockhampton.

About the role:

  • Deliver discipline specific mental health clinical services, including mental state and risk assessment, triage, care planning and therapy interventions.
  • Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning within the team and by engaging in professional development activities, peer, professional and clinical supervision.
  • Actively participate in the collection of required data and use of clinical indicators to promote service development and quality improvement activities.
  • Work flexibly, collaboratively, efficiently and effectively within the team and with consumers, carers and other stakeholders, in order to promote consumer recovery.
  • Provide professional supervision pertaining to routine tasks for students and less experienced staff with the support of senior clinical staff.

About you:

  • You will hold a relevant qualification in Registered Nursing or equivalent with current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration.
  • Eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 would be highly desirable.
  • An ability to provide mental health care, including risk assessment and triage, to clients with a complex mental illness including knowledge of the Queensland Mental Health Act 2016 and the National Standards for Mental Health Services.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $139,252 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $57.48 - $61.55 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
