About us:
The Quality and Safety Division leads and supports the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centred care across Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service. Operating as a trusted business partner to all clinical delivery areas, the Division provides expert guidance, governance frameworks, and practical support to ensure care is delivered to the highest standards of quality and safety. Through close collaboration, it helps clinical teams translate data, evidence, and insights into meaningful improvement actions that enhance outcomes for patients, staff, and the organisation.
About the role:
- Leads, manages, and monitors clinical governance compliance the national standards, supporting safe effective health care delivery applying advanced clinical judgement in accordance with the Queensland Health Incident Management Matrix and legislative requirements.
- Provides senior clinical leadership and authoritative advice on health care standards and compliance at a Hospital and Health Service level.
- Leads multidisciplinary analysis of adverse clinical events, identifying system-level risks and translating findings into sustainable improvements.
- Communicates complex assurance risks, trends and issues to clinicians, senior leaders, executives, and boards to inform decision-making.
- Leads education, mentoring and capability development initiatives to strengthen workforce competence in clinical governance and health service standards.
About you:
- The successful applicant will hold a tertiary degree qualification such as a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent. Current Nursing registration though the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is also a requirement for this position.
- While not mandatory, a relevant qualification would be well regarded.
- Demonstrate a high standard of clinical person-centred care.
- Accountable for own competence and clinical knowledge; utilises effective assessment, planning and implementation skills to deliver and evaluate safe, quality person centred care including critical thinking and decision making.
- Demonstrate clinical leadership in the coordination and provision of patient centred care and best practice outcomes.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $4,334 p.m. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $70.58 - $76.63 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
