Biloela Hospital provides a range of hospital and visiting specialist services to the Biloela and Banana region. Our vision, outlined in our Destination 2030: Great Care for Central Queenslanders strategy is for Biloela Hospital to be the Banana hub for emergency, maternity, diagnostic and a range of surgical services. We invest in Telehealth technology to provide local access to services wherever possible.
The unit is a Maternity and Midwifery Group Practice model. Our Maternity service provides woman centred care, reflecting the needs of each woman within a safe and sustainable quality system. All women have access to evidenced based, culturally competent maternity care in a range of settings close to where they live.
About the role:
- The Registered Midwife (Caseload) is required to deliver competent, quality direct midwifery care, within a specific area of expertise and assisting in the achievement of service goals.
- Provide effective and efficient clinical care in the area of clinical specialty and work in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager/Clinical Midwives to ensure the maintenance of safe standards in patient care.
- Provide clinical support and education to women and their families and staff within the model to ensure the provision of best practice and quality patient care.
- Responsible for coordinating quality and safety performance aligned with State-Wide Maternity Guidelines and CQHHS policies.
- Work effectively in interdisciplinary teams, organise work priorities, provide midwifery leadership and review work practices and care processes that support the Continuum of Care.
- Apply contemporary human resource management principles to ensure that the unit working environment meets legislative standards and Queensland Health policy.
About you:
- Current registration as a Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate are mandatory for this position.
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and if applicable registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association.
- An understanding of the importance of quality, safety and risk in a healthcare environment.
- Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates comprehensive Midwifery care for consumers in accordance with professional standards, validated practice which is consistent with the philosophy of Queensland health and the Central Queensland Health Service.
- Ability to work as a team member within a multidisciplinary team to achieve the goals of the unit and contribute the overall service development and planning.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $170,575 p.a. (Including additional 35% case load allowance) is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $59.48 - $76.29 p.h. (Including additional 35% case load allowance)
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
