An exciting opportunity currently exists for you to join the Business Support Unit as a Revenue Optimisation Officer. You will Reporting directly to the Business Improvement Officer, you will serve as a subject matter expert, providing strategic advice that supports Own Source Revenue (OSR) streams and activity-based funding (ABF) relationships. The Private Practice and Revenue team has a Health Service-wide strategic financial and policy focus. We manage accounts receivable, banking, and debt management services for Cairns Hospital, alongside ensuring Own Source Revenue legislative compliance across all facilities and functions within the Health Service.

About your opportunity:

In this position you will….. 

  • Act as a subject matter expert on Own Source Revenue (OSR) funding initiatives, providing technical advice on processes for identifying, billing, and recovering revenue.
  • Provide expert advice and support to administration teams, ward clerks, and clinical staff regarding privately insured, self-funded ineligible, or compensable patients to ensure informed financial consent is obtained, documentation is compliant, and to obtain insurer guarantee of payments.
  • Develop, implement, and deliver training, reporting systems, and procedures in partnership with the Business Improvement Officer and Manager Private Practice and Revenue.
