About us:

Gladstone Hospital provides a range of services to Gladstone and the Banana region. Our Destination 2030: Great Care for Central Queenslanders strategy will see Gladstone Hospital developed as a centre for emergency care, medical inpatient and day surgery excellence. This will optimise outreach services to deliver care closer to home in the Gladstone and Banana rural communities. 

About the role:

  • You'll manage filing and patient medical records in line with hospital policies, prioritise your workload independently, and ensure everything stays organised. With strong attention to detail, you'll accurately enter and update information across hospital systems, helping the team deliver efficient, seamless care every day.
  • Act as a point of contact, respond to enquiries and provide accurate information and assistance to staff, clients and visitors in a confidential manner to facilitate effective service delivery within a busy inpatient setting.
  • Undertake filing duties, ensuring the recording and storage of patient medical records are maintained in accordance with hospital policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Prioritise workload effectively and perform duties responsibly in the absence of supervision.

About you:

  • Competent in the use of contemporary word processing, spread sheeting, database and other information systems ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the possession of tact, diplomacy and discretion in dealing with staff and the public.
  • Well-developed problem solving, consultation, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team and adapt to a changing work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish work priorities to meet deadlines without the need for direct supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with sensitive matters appropriately.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $20,116 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $39.98 - $44.46 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
