An opportunity has become available for a Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist (Alcohol and Other Drugs Service) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10,000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
About the role
Work across a specialist service which provides a range of treatments for severe and complex drug and alcohol individuals and families. The service provides a range of community based AOD programs and a Consultation Liaison service.
Requirements for the role
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B.
- Tuberculosis screening - to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required.
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed.
- MBBS or equivalent registrable with the Medical Board of Australia plus FRANZCP or equivalent acceptable to the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and registrable as a Specialist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or the ability to obtain such within the next 6 months.
- A Certificate in Addiction Psychiatry is a mandatory requirement for appointment to this role.
- Whilst not mandatory a relevant FAChAM qualification with Royal Australian College of Physicians is desirable.
- Certified copies of relevant qualification/s and registration must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
- Strong clinical and teaching experience in Addictions.
- The incumbent will be required to participate in an after-hours and on-call roster for Mental Health and Specialist Services.
Salary information
- Permanent full time or permanent part time
- Senior Staff Specialist: Base salary from $259,072 - $274,678 p.a (full time) or $124.13 - $131.61 p.h (part time)
- Staff Specialist: Base salary from $216,643 - $251,642 p.a (full time) or $103.80 - $120.57 p.h (part time)
- Up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
