About the role
As a Rotational Pharmacist within the Surgical Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS), you will deliver comprehensive clinical pharmacy services across a range of specialty pharmacy work units, multidisciplinary teams, and the dispensary within STARS, with opportunities to rotate to other Metro North Health facilities. Working within a fully digital (ieMR) hospital environment, you will provide patient‑centred, evidence‑based medicine management to support safe and effective care.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Deliver clinical pharmacy services to multiple Pharmacy work units in accordance with organisational goals.
- Apply increasingly independent clinical judgement to clinical decision making under the clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of a more senior clinician.
- Provide verbal/written medicines information and education to all stakeholders which includes patients/ their carer's medical, nursing and allied health staff both within and external to STARS to ensure person centred care is the focus and transitions of care are seamless.
- Facilitate patient centred, accurate, timely and relevant communication to primary care providers to assure the ongoing care of the patient whilst optimising the digital systems in place at STARS.
- Develop higher level skills and expertise achieved through experience, professional development, and feedback.
