About the School:

Darling Point Special School is a dedicated and inclusive educational environment, providing high-quality learning experiences for students with disabilities from Prep to Year 12. With a growing enrolment of over 180 students, the school currently operates across two campuses — one located on the Wynnum-Manly foreshore and the other in Lindum, proudly sharing the grounds with Iona College. The school's teaching and learning approach is underpinned by the principles of neuroscience, positive behaviour support, and evidence-based research.

About the Role:

Through the following, the roles play a pivotal leadership role across both campuses. The successful applicants will demonstrate strong skills, expertise and experience to:

  • Contextual application of version 9 of the Australian Curriculum and the Guide to Individual Learning (GIL)
  • Extensive knowledge and practical expertise in positive behaviour support and non-linear multielement planning
  • Leadership, coaching and mentoring expertise and experience in evidence-based teaching practices for students with severe and multiple disabilities integrating the principles of neuroscience
  • Strong management skills in logistics and application of departmental policy and procedures
  • Strong relational skills, the ability to think on the spot, and pivot for positive outcomes.
