You will operate as a senior leader, applying deep market expertise, strong commercial judgment and influential stakeholder engagement to deliver tangible outcomes for Queensland in trade and investment.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Lead the development and execution of TIQ's foreign direct investment strategy for Korea, identifying and progressing opportunities across Queensland's priority sectors including resources, energy, agriculture, infrastructure and advanced manufacturing.
- Proactively identify, qualify, and pursue Korean companies with the capacity and strategic rationale to invest in Queensland, building a pipeline of credible investment prospects and driving each opportunity through from first contact to investment outcome.
- Proactively identify, qualify, and pursue Korean buyers, offtake partners, and industry counterparts with the commercial rationale to source from Queensland, building a pipeline of credible trade leads across resources, critical minerals, and resources-related goods and services, and driving each opportunity from first engagement to commercial outcome.
- Represent TIQ and the Queensland Government at a senior level across corporate, government, and diplomatic settings in Korea, engaging credibly with C-suite executives, government officials, and industry bodies.
- Build and maintain a high-value network across Korea's investment, industry, and government communities, leveraging the badge of government to open doors and develop trusted, long-term relationships.
- Support the Commissioner in achieving trade and investment outcomes, contributing to the operational management of the Korea network including activity reporting, performance tracking, and network administration.
- Provide aftercare to major investors already active in Queensland and proactively cultivate new investment leads from Korean companies across priority sectors.
- Plan and execute business missions and Ministerial visits to Korea, including program design, stakeholder briefings, and on-the-ground support for Ministers and business delegations.
- Work in close partnership with Queensland agencies, industry groups, and research bodies to facilitate cooperation with Korean counterpart organisations, including through formal cooperation agreements.
- Deliver accurate, timely, and commercially relevant market intelligence and strategic advice to Queensland government agencies, companies, and industry groups on the Korean investment and economic environment.
- Collaborate actively with TIQ colleagues across Queensland and other international markets to coordinate activities, share intelligence, and maximise outcomes for Queensland.
To be eligible for consideration with this opportunity, you must have:
