Property Services Officer

Property Services delivers a range of office accommodation services, building maintenance, security and fleet services for the department.
This role will focus primarily on building maintenance, however the successful applicant may be called upon to assist with the delivery of other projects within the realm of Property Services.
Building maintenance pertains to works and repairs, both planned and unplanned, undertaken to the department’s property portfolio. The portfolio consists of leased accommodation (commercial and employee housing), detention centres, and other owned properties.

Key Responsibilities:
As Property Services Officer, you will specifically:
Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Property and related services
- Triage and manage emergent operational and safety risks, such as routine and unplanned breakdowns, outages or identified hazards through the coordination of and communication to on-site personnel and engaged contractors.
- Regularly monitor and report on maintenance task progress against predetermined time, cost, and quality specifications to ensure budget outcomes are achieved within designated timeframes.
- Assist in the reconciliation and payment of accounts pertaining to maintenance undertaken on the department's property portfolio.
- Ensure procedures are maintained for accurate and consistent record keeping and audit review of maintenance records, certificates and registrations.
- Maintain relevant knowledge of the requirements under the Work Health and Safety Act (2011) and other relevant government policies and frameworks to ensure the management of risks and safeguards of the interests of all employees.
Collaboration
- Work closely with the Queensland Government Accommodation Office (QGAO), QBuild and other external stakeholders to ensure the timely and efficient execution of maintenance works to the department's property portfolio.

- Analyse, interpret and solve problems, engaging the team and management inputs in order to provide accurate and timely solutions.
