About the role
This role offers comprehensive subspecialty training, hands-on clinical autonomy, advanced procedural exposure, and strong academic and research mentorship — ideal for physicians pursuing a consultant career in hepatology.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Demonstrate expertise across all facets of care for patients with liver disease (including consultation and endoscopic services and participation in multidisciplinary teams) to the standard expected of a tertiary hospital Hepatology Unit.
- Work semi-autonomously in the management of inpatients and outpatients with liver disease, particularly complex patients and those requiring work-up for liver transplantation, in consultation with staff hepatologists as needed.
- Contribute as a sub-investigator on a range of multicentre clinical trials investigating novel therapeutics in MASLD, autoimmune liver diseases, viral hepatitis and HCC.
