Lead the Frontline of Australia's Largest Fire Ant Eradication Effort

The National Fire Ant Eradication Program (NFAEP) is one of Australia's most complex and high-stakes biosecurity initiatives—and this role sits at the centre of it.

As Operations Director, you will command the delivery of large-scale, statewide treatment and surveillance operations, ensuring strategy is executed with precision across diverse environments and communities. You'll lead a substantial, multidisciplinary workforce, drive performance at scale and make critical, risk-based decisions that directly influence eradication success.

Working closely with senior executives and government stakeholders, you'll translate complex scientific and operational intelligence into clear, decisive action. Your influence will extend beyond operations—shaping priorities, guiding investment and strengthening partnerships across agencies and jurisdictions.

This is a role for a leader who thrives in complexity, brings clarity in high-pressure environments and can mobilise people and resources toward a shared outcome of national significance.

Opportunities to lead programs of this scale, visibility, and long-term impact are rare.
This is your chance to help deliver one of Australia's most important biosecurity outcomes.

Applications to remain current for 12 months.
