The role
The Principal Technology Officer will provide high level technical direction, support and advice to maintain defined enterprise service levels in one or more technology domains.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide support and assistance in the clarification and prioritisation of tasks by ensuring assigned priorities are met in accordance with defined enterprise service levels.
- Assist management in the decision making process by preparing technical and capacity reports, specifications and trend analysis within the unit.
- Manage ICT assets by ensuring relevant information is recorded accurately.
- Convert business capacity needs into ICT capacity and performance of enterprise systems into infrastructure component capacity requirements.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of the process to continuously monitor ICT resource consumption against established usage plans and exceptions are reported to be resolved in a timely and comprehensive manner.
About you
We are searching for someone who:
- High level oral and written communication skills to enable effective interaction in individual and group situations and the ability to maintain relevant system documentation and produce technical reports/documents for management (NHS: effective and strategic influencing, collaborative working).
- Demonstrated expertise and technical skills in one or more of the following; (SFIA: TECH Level 5)
- High level experience in querying and merging large data sets using sophisticated data interrogation tools and techniques with the ability to summarise, interpret and communicate complex data sets in a non-technical way. A strong attention to detail, accuracy and timeline focus is essential.
- Demonstrated high level analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills with a proven record in the translation of business demon into ICT capacity requirements for a large, complex and distributed service delivery organisation
- Demonstrated skills in task scheduling and automation using products such as Alteryx, PowerBI, Qlikview, Powershell, Selenium and Visual Basic Scripting.
- Demonstrated experience in monitoring tools such as SCOM, Splunk and Solarwind experience would be an advantage
