Nanango State School is seeking a dynamic and innovative Deputy Principal to join our leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator who thrives on collaboration and is committed to improving student outcomes through a trauma-informed lens. As Deputy Principal, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the school, supporting staff development, and fostering an inclusive, positive learning environment for all students. This is a temporary full-time position until 20 October 2026, unless otherwise determined.

About the Role:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Provide educational leadership to improve teaching quality and student achievement.
  • Support the Principal in developing and implementing the school's strategic vision.
  • Lead initiatives that promote inclusive education and wellbeing.
  • Manage school operations, resources, and compliance requirements.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents, community organisations, and external agencies.
  • Drive professional development and performance improvement for staff.
  • Deputise for the Principal when required.

Highly desirable skills and experience:

  • Experience implementing trauma-informed practices and student wellbeing programs.
  • Background in innovative teaching strategies and digital learning.
  • Familiarity with data-driven decision-making for school improvement.
  • Previous leadership in inclusive education or special needs programs.
  • Ability to foster community partnerships and extracurricular engagement.
