The Metro North HR Business Partnering team are seeking a highly experienced Principal HR Consultant to join our team.
This position provides expert advice to school leaders and regional stakeholders regarding the delivery of HR services including strategic workforce planning, recruitment and workforce mobility.
You will lead a contemporary business partnering function, providing expert human resource and employee relations advice, strategic consultancy and support services to provide practical solutions to enhance business outcomes across a range of complex human resource matters.
This permanent role is available to start ASAP. Our team is co-located within the Brisbane North / Moreton Bay area with offices in Nundah and North Lakes as potential base locations.
Flexible work arrangements are available and can be negotiated.

About the Role:
Principal HR Consultant roles within the Metro North Region are subject matter experts within service delivery portfolios.
The Principal HR Consultant reports to the Director HR, Metropolitan North Region.
This role is responsible for the delivery of recruitment and mobility services across the region in addition to workforce insights and strategic workforce planning.
Applicants with a HR background in the above areas, a strong customer focus and attention to detail are strongly encouraged to apply. While not mandatory HR qualifications are highly regarded.
As the Principal HR Consultant you will provide expert advice to the regional management team regarding the delivery of human resource management services including workforce management strategies, recruitment and selection, industrial relations, organisational health services, change management strategies and school workforce management issues.
You will have responsibility for the following:
- Monitor, plan and lead work and/or project teams dedicated to assisting schools in achieving organisational goals through improved use of resources and human resource management practices.
- Coordinate and lead recruitment and mobility initiatives in the region in consultation with stakeholders in schools, region and central office.
- Develop and report on workforce trends and insights for senior stakeholders utilising a strategic workforce planning framework.
- As a member of the regional and human resource program's senior management team, contribute to change and relational management processes in the region.
- Establish effective internal partnerships to deliver quality services.
- Commission or conduct reviews of human resource services programs and functions.
- Develop creative solutions to assist schools with workforce plans that support their core business and meet the changing needs of students and the community.
