About the role
Eat Walk Engage (EWE) is a comprehensive multi-disciplinary program that improves care for older people in hospital. The program significantly reduces delirium and promotes recovery in acute care wards. The position directly contributes to patient care by providing clinical support tasks focusing on patient nutrition, cognitive stimulation, mobility, and functional independence. The Eat Walk Engage Clinical Assistant is a Multi-Professional Assistant (MPA) who receives delegation from health professionals (e.g. Allied health, nursing, medical) participating in the Eat Walk Engage program at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Provide a defined range of screening assessments and treatments for patients as identified and delegated by the multi-disciplinary team, and as allowed by legislation and guidelines.
- Initiate changes to treatment programs under the direction of the multidisciplinary team using results from standardised assessment and treatment interventions.
- Actively contribute to and communicate with the ward multi-disciplinary team.
- Contribute to patient records according to organisational guidelines and legal requirements.
