As a Manager Assurance and Investigations, you will be responsible for providing strategic and operational direction, leadership and support to your team. You will also provide expert advice to team members, senior officers and key stakeholders in relation to assurance assessment and investigation procedures, objectives and performance standards adopted by the QGP Assurance Branch and become actively involved in difficult and/or potentially contentious issues.

- Manage, appraise and monitor the performance of staff to ensure operational effectiveness, as well as actively promoting learning and development within the team.
- Provide operational leadership in state-wide compliance activities, including conducting complex assurance assessments, investigations and complaints to ensure supplier compliance with contracted obligations, the Code of Conduct, the PAM, and relevant government policies, while recommending appropriate actions for suppliers and procuring agencies.
- Provide expert advice to the Director Assurance and Investigation, Executive Leadership Team and stakeholders on contemporary and emerging compliance and investigation matters that may impact on the Queensland Procurement Policy, Code of Conduct and PAM
- Oversee and refine methodical processes for assurance assessments, investigations, complaints, referrals, reporting, and data analysis to identify compliance risks and emerging trends. Drive system updates to enhance efficiency and team performance, ensuring workflows and investigations meet quality, timeliness, and integrity standards.
- Review data and select projects and suppliers for assurance assessment, arrange schedule approvals, assigning of assessments and investigation based on team member workload and monitor team performance.
- Ensure all assurance assessment and investigation information and data is appropriately managed, recorded and reported.
- Prepare and coordinate ministerial briefs, inquires, reports, dashboards, and presentations as required.
- Guide and mentor staff to raise team capacity across a variety of work activities including conducting complex assurance assessments, (leading and/or assisting with more difficult or potentially contentious assessments/investigations), investigations, including the analysis of evidence related to, contractual commitments, work health and safety, local supplier/worker engagement and pay-related records for the purpose of assessment and investigation to determine levels of compliance.
- Reduce instances of non-compliance by increasing stakeholder understanding of the Queensland Procurement Policy and other Queensland Government Policies by contributing to the development of information and training materials, liaising with suppliers and ensuring that they understand assurance findings and other compliance activity outcomes.
- Produce complex assurance assessment and investigation reports, recommendations and undertake reviews of technical information arising out of serious supplier breaches of the Queensland Procurement Policy, Code of Conduct and PAM.
- Report to management on team outcomes against objectives and performance standards adopted by the Queensland Government Procurement Assurance Branch.
- Manage negotiations and communications with regulators, agency representatives, and suppliers throughout the assurance assessment and investigation process. This includes delivering outcomes and clearly communicating findings, required actions, and recommendations both verbally and in writing.
- Develop and maintain effective relations and strategic networks with key internal and external stakeholders to share information, identify on-going, emerging issues and trends, and provide advice to internal management teams including preparing engagement presentations and guidelines for internal and external stakeholders as required.
