As a Senior Procurement Officer you will:
- Consult with and advise internal and external stakeholders by developing and maintaining positive working relationships; exchanging feedback between stakeholders, clients and suppliers to ensure responsive service delivery that meets current and future needs.
- Manage and coordinate procurement projects from planning to contract award for high value complex contracts, and purchases from standing offer arrangements in accordance with government and departmental policies and procedures.
- Apply specialist knowledge in providing advice across a range of procurement related areas including procurement policy, invitation and evaluation strategies, contract development and management.
- Maintain knowledge of issues impacting procurement and related Government policies, and initiatives. Assist with the implementation and management of procurement improvement projects, practices and templates.
- Provide advice and tools to contract managers to enable effective monitoring of supplier performance, delivery of knowledge transfer, and appropriate action in response to supplier or contract management issues.
- Assist in influencing the capability and profile of procurement within the department and contribute to the development of knowledge and expertise of purchasing staff in the delivery of effective procurement practices.
