About the Team

The Children's Health Queensland Retrieval Service provides a specialist paediatric coordination and transport service for critically ill children and adolescents throughout Queensland and northern New South Wales. The multidisciplinary team receives referrals into the service via Retrieval Services Queensland. Cases triaged as critical come through to the Statewide Paediatric Medical Coordinator (SMPC). SPMCs provide clinical advice for critical cases. Patients may then be able to stay locally or be moved without ongoing SPMC coordination (“advice” cases). If an Interfacility Transfer (IFT/retrieval) is required, the SPMC coordinates the clinical aspects of this. These retrievals are performed either by a paediatric specialist team (CHQRS or Yalurin), or by non-CHQRS teams.

About the Role

In this role you will create systems to sustain high quality delivery for children, young people and families (Leader of Leaders) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values.
