About us:

Yarrabah is a discrete First Nations community located one hour south of Cairns with a population of over 2800 people. The Yarrabah Emergency Department is operated by Cairns and Hinterland HHS and the primary health service is managed by Gurriny Yealamucka Health Services Aboriginal Corporation. A whole-of-community approach is at the core of the health equity agenda and is critical to improving health access and health outcomes for the Yarrabah people.

The Clinical Nurse Consultant is a Registered Nurse who is accountable to deliver direct specialist and advanced standard of clinical mental health nursing practice, consultancy and advice to support the delivery of evidence-based community interventions for adults with mental illness for Yarrabah Mental Health service.

About your opportunity:

  • Provide clinical advice, leadership, and education to the Adult Mental Health Services, Cluster Operations Manager, and other stakeholders regarding service delivery and coordination, utilising high level written and oral communication skills.
  • Implement and monitor the organisation's quality standards, work health and safety policies, procedures and programs and provide clinical governance in the relevant work area.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols that support the continuum of care
