ECQ is offering the opportunity to join the Queensland public sector; a position of trust where you will contribute to better outcomes for Queenslanders by implementing the policies, priorities, services or programs of the elected Government. Working as part of a small finance team, the position has the potential to engage in all aspects of the Finance function, including ownership of the AR/AP processes, contributing to month end reporting processes, participating in the annual financial audit and supervision of finance officers.

As the Senior Finance Officer, you will:
• Assist with the coordination and management of the financial processes in the Commission including AP, AR and purchase requisition.
• Responsible officer for the Commission's corporate cards, petty cash and cost center management.
• Ensure adherence to best practice financial policies, procedures and systems in accordance with requirements of relevant legislation and internal guidelines.
• Manage general finance queries from both internal and external stakeholders as the main liaison officer between Queensland Shared Services (QSS) and ECQ.
• Prepare monthly expenditure, revenue and trial balance reports and complete an audit sample of transactions processed.
• Manage monthly balance sheet reconciliations within the Finance Team.
• Assist the Principal Finance Officer during the annual end of financial year audit process.
• Coordinate and manage the financial component of the Non-Voter process for elections.
• Provide assistance as required to the Procurement and Contracts Manager in low value and low risk procurement activities.
• Supervise and provide training of casual and temporary employees within the work unit during major electoral events and participate actively in all facets of the conduct of electoral events where required.
• Consistently display the ECQ and Queensland Government values, ensuring that these are upheld at all levels of the organisation.
