The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Clinical Nurse Consultants (Rapid Ambulance Patient Intake and Disposition) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide expert clinical oversight of ambulance arrivals, ensuring safe, timely, and clinically appropriate transfer of care
- Be responsible for optimising patient flow at the point of arrival via the Queensland Ambulance Service
- Demonstrates critical thinking and reasoning, advanced problem-solving skills, and expert clinical judgement
- Identify and manage patient safety risks associated with arrival delays or capacity constraints
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time and Permanent part time (hours negotiable)
- Base salary ranging from $139 951- $151 949 per annum or $70.58-$76.63 per hour
About Us
Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service's Emergency Care Services encompasses Emergency Departments at Gold Coast University Hospital, Robina Hospital, the Minor Injuries and Illness Centre at Tugun Satellite Health Centre and provides Emergency care to the Queensland Police Service Watchhouses at Southport and Beenleigh. Across the two ED's, approximately 190,000 emergency presentations are provided care annually, with GCUH ED recognised as one of the busiest mixed ED's in the Southern Hemisphere. GCUH is a Level 6 QLD Clinical Services Capability Framework facility and a Royal Australian College of Surgeons Level 1 accredited Trauma facility. Robina Hospital provides Level 4 services under the QLD CSCF. Both Robina and GCUH ED's manage Adult and Paediatric presentations. Research and Education are key priorities for our division, with GCHHS ECS research recognised as a world leader in collaborative research activities. Our education team supports staff development and is aligned to the vision of providing the best Emergency Nursing service in Australia.
