Legal Aid Queensland are seeking a Specialist Consultant – Recruitment and Retention to join the People, Culture and Capability team in a permanent capacity. Lead the Careers team to implement strategic recruitment and selection initiatives, including systems and strategy to support the attraction and retention of quality candidates.

About the role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the recruitment team and overseeing recruitment across the organisation.
  • Participating in or supporting selection panels and coaching panel members on recruitment and selection practices.
  • Providing strategic advice to stakeholders and contributing to the delivery of strategic workforce plan initiatives.
  • Reviewing recruitment practices to identify opportunities for improvements.
  • Preparing briefing notes, reports, presentations and training about recruitment services and results.

About you

  • You have knowledge of public sector recruitment, selection, attraction and retention strategies and have experience implementing business improvement initiatives to enhance results.
  • You can manage a recruitment team, demonstrate flexibility and work independently. You prioritise to meet deadlines and reschedule or reorganise work to reflect changes in priorities.
  • You communicate in a clear, concise and articulate manner, discuss issues credibly, offer convincing rationale, negotiate persuasively and your advice influences decision making. You have experience preparing policies, briefing notes, reports and other business documents.
