The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Cyber Security Engagement Officer to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Research emerging cyber security threats and trends, analyse data, and conduct training needs analyses
  • Lead the planning of cyber security training and awareness programs, materials, and activities, to promote organisational security priorities
  • Deliver training and awareness sessions to staff, ensuring content is accessible, engaging, and tailored
  • Support succession planning initiatives to build a positive culture, and a sustainable and resilient cyber security workforce.

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • While not mandatory a relevant tertiary qualification and/or recognised industry certifications in Cyber Security, Education, Training and Assessment, Communications, or a related field
  • This position may be required to supervise more junior members of the team
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Temporary full time (up to 11 months, with the possibility of extension)
  • Base salary ranging from $4 791.30 - $5 132.30 per fortnight

The Digital Health and Innovation (DHI) division has been established to drive significant service improvements and digital transformation opportunities, in alignment with the strategic objectives outlined in the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Services (GCHHS) Strategic Plan 2028.

The DHI portfolio consists of interconnected functional business units and teams, including Digital Project Delivery, Digital Experience, Technology Operations, Health Information and Digital Security and Architecture.

DHI is responsible for enhancing efficiency and service delivery improvements to optimise Health Service performance. It also oversees strategic partnerships that help the Health Service implement alternative models of service delivery, ensuring value for money, and driving improvements in performance, and innovation.
