About the role
The Occupational Therapist – Advanced (Hand Therapy) provides expert clinical leadership and delivers high‑level, evidence‑based hand therapy services to patients with complex and varied conditions at Redcliffe Hospital. Working with a high degree of professional autonomy, you will assess, plan and implement specialised interventions while supporting optimal patient outcomes across the continuum of care.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Deliver specialist clinical services of a complex and varied nature in the Occupational Therapy Hand Therapy Service in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, with minimal direct clinical supervision.
- Professionally lead the delivery of services within Occupational Therapy, providing specialist clinical advice in Hand Therapy management to health practitioners, supervisors, managers and stakeholders, both internal and external to the HHS.
- Provide timely, specialist advice in matters relating to Occupational Therapy Hand Therapy management to health professionals, supervisors, managers, and stakeholders, both internal and external to the HHS, regarding occupational therapy management
- Apply high-level communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills to consult with partners and work collaboratively with patients, parents/carers, multi-disciplinary team members and agencies to meet service goals and enhance health outcomes.
- Provide active leadership in the development of professional competence in the Occupational Therapy area of Hand Therapy management and advocate for service improvements that enhance the delivery of Occupational Therapy services in Hand Therapy management.
