In year 8 we run specific classes of literacy and numeracy designed to help improve skills to complement the work that is done in English and Mathematics classrooms.

We actively track each student's individual progress and use this information to update our teaching practices.

In addition to the standard duties below and on the attached Role Description, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Support subject curriculum development - develop and collect curriculum resources.
  • Coordinate and plan events in accordance to the strategic plan of the unit, to provide positive outcomes for students, staff and community.
  • Create digital media and maintain a digital noticeboard.
  • Monitor student engagement, attendance and behaviour.
  • Collect and monitor academic and attendance data.
  • Case manage students and liaise with Wellbeing and Engagement Teams.
  • Provide and oversea opportunities for cultural engagement; dance troupe, art projects, workshops, excursions, community development, etc.
  • Student / parent / community engagement.
  • Provide additional support for students academically and professionally - pathways, alternate schooling, tutoring, etc.
