The Workforce Planning and Design sub-team focuses on ensuring jobs are designed well to achieve our strategic and business objectives. The team uses approved Queensland Health (QH) resources and tools to support increased capability and collaborative workforce planning in partnership with relevant key stakeholders.
About the role:
As and Assistant Advisor, Role Design and Evaluation, you will provide advice and coordination of job evaluation requests and initiatives, supporting the management of evaluation requests, implementation of process, innovation and continuous improvement solutions to achieve best practice job evaluation practices. You will support job evaluation governance activities in accordance with approved Health Practitioner work level evaluation and Job Evaluation Methodology System (JEMS) methodologies and guidelines and engage clients with any documentation issues and evaluation outcome finalisation.
Other key responsibilities include:
• Apply knowledge of legislation, policies and procedures relating to job design and evaluation in a large, complex organisation.
• Utilise problem solving skills in role design, job evaluation ensuring issues are addressed in a timely manner according to client needs.
• Assist in the development and review of policies, procedures and organisational resources to promote the effective and efficient management of work level/job evaluation activities.
• Maintain accurate and appropriate record keeping, systems and standards including the VADER database and the documentation of job evaluation services ensuring compliance with governance requirements.
Role fit:
The ideal candidate brings a solid understanding of role design and evaluation methodology, along with proven experience in high‑accuracy administrative work within fast‑paced, client‑focused environments. They demonstrate strong teamwork skills, effectively coordinating and prioritising tasks to support timely outcomes, while also showing the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities and high workloads with confidence and attention to detail.
Accrediation in the Mercer Job Evaluation methodology is required to perform role evaluations.
