In the role of Project Director, you would join the team delivering the multibillion dollar Gateway Motorway and Bruce Highway Upgrade (GMBHU) project, upgrading this important link on the National Freight Corridor. You will use your leadership and technical expertise to lead and manage functional project management services to ensure successful project delivery and completion in accordance with required timeframes, cost, quality, safety, community and stakeholder, environmental and service standards. You will also take a lead role within the broader GMBHU team, building and maintaining a highly positive team culture, growing technical expertise, ensuring governance requirements are met, and maintaining effective communication and relationships with your internal and external stakeholders.

Some of your accountabilities include:
- Lead and manage the project team, consultants, and contractors to ensure all members are appropriately skilled and utilised, and to ensure all deliverables, time and budgetary requirements are met.
- Manage key disciplines and services to investigate and resolve complex engineering and contract issues associated with the project to improve overall performance and ensure value for money.
- Manage, monitor and report on project progress against predetermined time and cost.
- Manage key disciplines to prepare and deliver submissions and reports relating to planning, design and technical (including contract) issues and identify appropriate mitigation strategies to overcome problems or obstacles related to the project.
- Provide specialist advice to senior management on all aspects of the project and make technical presentations within areas of capability as required.
- Identify and harness the necessary internal and external expertise to deliver project requirements, including the selection, engagement and procurement of consultants and contractors.
- Promote a positive and productive project culture and manage development and implementation of the total project plan in relation to integration, human resources, scope, communication, time, risk, cost procurement and quality.
- Act as "Principal Representative or delegate (within areas of capability) for contracts, if required, as defined and delegated at respective development/implementation phases.
- Develop a culture where project learnings are captured and shared to foster best practice technology and project and program management methodology within Transport and Main Roads.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders while leading and directing the development of staff in the areas of achievement, workforce and succession planning, budget and business planning processes.
