Reporting to the Procurement Manager - Travel, the Senior Systems Administrator - Travel will oversee the administration and operational management of the travel booking program. You will manage multiple systems, lead system enhancement projects, analyse travel data to identify trends and opportunities, and provide insights to support program improvements. You will also collaborate with stakeholders across government and the travel sector to deliver practical solutions for travel systems issues.

What you will be doing:
• Facilitating and participating in cross agency working groups to deliver an efficient travel booking system and enhancements to the system through innovation.
• Researching and providing evidence-based recommendations for system improvements that deliver value for government and align to travel category objectives, ensuring that all activities are appropriate and undertaken within departmental, whole-of-government and industry standards.
• Collaborating with agencies and suppliers to cost, develop, test and roll out initiatives that deliver a seamless and market leading travel booking experience to a diverse user group.
• Develop, document and review technical specifications, including requirements, design and testing documentation for system changes.
• Facilitating change through the provision of effective, clear and concise communications to clients to ensure that expectations of system alterations and changes to business processes are met.
• Responding to and resolving supplier and customer issues and managing supplier contractual obligations of the integrated QTravel solution.
• Provide expertise on system configuration and assist staff to ensure knowledge transfer and succession.

Key Skills and Capabilities:
• Demonstrated experience in managing travel systems, such as online booking tools, travel reporting platforms, and travel payment solutions. This includes the ability to resolve issues, oversee system integrations, implement enhancements and ensure compliance with Queensland Government standards and policies.
• Proven ability to adopt an agile approach to problem-solving and process improvement, with a strong focus on delivering customer-centric outcomes.
• Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively across organisational boundaries and effectively engaging with senior executives to achieve shared goals.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to actively listen, respond effectively, and build trust with stakeholders. Demonstrated capability to deliver on commitments and maintain positive working relationships through clear and timely communication.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with a high level of organisation and attention to detail. Proven capacity to manage competing priorities, take initiative and exercise sound judgement in identifying when to escalate issues or seek guidance to manage risks effectively.
• Demonstrated understanding of how key policies, practices and procedures operate in a procurement environment and can apply the Queensland Procurement Policy in your everyday work activities
