About Us:
The dedicated Contract Management & Purchasing team are responsible for purchasing and administrating contracts for hardware, software, professional services and labour hire supporting ICT operations, projects and the departments statewide IT enterprise serving students, school communities and the corporate office.
Your Opportunity:
You will join a small team focussed on achieving quality outcomes and improving customer experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for tracking and managing a scheduled workload, providing oversight of the contract lifecycle from source through to management, accountable for exercising a delegation and actioning established workflows within tight timeframes. The role requires a flexible and cooperative approach to accommodate ad-hoc requests and support colleagues to balance team work loads.
Success in this role will contribute to overall improvement of ICT Contract Administration and Purchasing outcomes through:
- Providing support and guidance to stakeholders relating to ICT purchasing and contract administration regarding reporting, performance management and governance obligations in line with the principles of government policy and frameworks.
- Undertaking contract administration activities, including monthly monitoring of expenditure, evaluation planning, and reporting to ensure risk, probity and transparency requirements are addressed and agreements deliver best value for money.
- Conducting or supporting purchasing and procurement processes, including market research and analysis in collaboration with various business areas in accordance with the department's governance and approval processes.
- Establishing, negotiating, and administering ICT contracts ensuring compliance with best practice guidelines, legislation, contract management plans, financial management practices and departmental policies and procedures.
- Ensuring contract reporting, establishment, renewals, extensions and variations are responsive to current and future needs.
- Maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism whist maintaining productive, respectful working relationships with key partners and stakeholders.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement in service delivery and processes to enhance customer experience and improve efficiency of the services delivered by the unit.
- Other responsibilities as required consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.

- Experience in ICT purchasing and contracts in a large organisation and complex environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.

- Excellent attention to detail, strong quality assurance and customer support skills.
- Confidence to investigate details, research unknowns and escalate matters in a timely fashion.
- Willingness to contribute to continuous improvement within the team and across the organisation.
