Tagai State College Secondary Campus is seeking applications for a part-time Transition Pathways Officer.
You will assist students exiting school prior to completing year 12, to transition from school into various pathways including work, apprenticeships and traineeships.
This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.5FTE), three days per week, 36.25 hours per fortnight.

The College:
Tagai State College comprises 16 Primary Campuses and 1 Secondary Campus across 15 Islands and 48 000 square kilometres in the beautiful Torres Strait.
This position is based at the Secondary Campus on Thursday Island.
Your Opportunity:
As the Transition Pathways Officer, you will work to provide a broad range of services to maximise the transition outcomes of students at risk of not successfully transitioning from school before the completion of Year 12. The Transition Pathways Officer reports to the Head of Campus or their delegate.
Please note: this position does not attract government housing.
Your Responsibilities:
The Transition Pathway's Officer role includes (but is not limited to) the following responsibilities:
- Support schools to develop and refine departmental policies, practices and procedures relating to students exiting school prior to the completion of Year 12 to ensure they remain in an eligible option.
- Provide support to schools that will assist the development of successful retention and transition strategies for ‘at risk' students.
- Provide appropriate support and intervention to young people and their families to assist in the transition of young people into a viable education, training or employment option.
- Facilitate the development of a school to post school transition plan for young people who leave school before the completion of Year 12 and provide appropriate case management and support as required.
