About us:
The Perioperative Unit is located in block seven in the West Wing of Gladstone Hospital. The Gladstone Hospital has two operating rooms and a procedure room. Services include elective and emergency surgery, Day Surgery, Pre-Anaesthetic Clinic, and Central Sterilising Supply Department (CSSD). The Perioperative Unit provides clinical care through the development and maintenance of relevant and proven patient care. The role of the Elective Surgery Wait List (ESWL) Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is to manage the wait lists and book patients accordingly. This includes endoscopy surveillance procedures. The booking of surveillance patients, contacting patients to confirm details, checking histology of the patients last procedure and the timeline for their procedure checked and amended as necessary. Booking into be assessed for Pre-Admission Clinic (PAC) and then given a date for procedures.
About the role:
- Provide leadership and support to nursing and medical staff and supports the delivery of competent, best practice quality nursing care.
- Responsible for the daily coordination and booking of patients for elective surgery to deliver efficient and effective outcomes.
- Possesses advanced level clinical skills and problem-solving skills.
- Lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary team approach to the development, implementation and evaluation of the service plan; relevant nursing standards, and associated policies to support safe, effective clinical care of patients, families and staff.
About you:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated ability to use a variety of formal and informal educational strategies to develop nursing staff's skill and knowledge in evidenced based practice.
- Well-developed ability to identify opportunities for improvement and a demonstrated commitment to continuous quality improvement.
- Ability to provide nursing leadership in a multidisciplinary environment and demonstrate excellent knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and theory.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $173,368 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $70.58 - $76.63 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
