We're excited to welcome a Registered Nurse to Mental Health and Specialised Services (MHSS).

This is a unique opportunity for an Identified Registered Nurse (RN) to work with the Gympie Cultural Healing Program (Aboriginal and Torres Islander Mental Health). The service provides outreach mental health services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community within the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service, and specifically the Gympie region.

Your role

  • Operate as a member of an integrated, multidisciplinary mental health team with a focus on planning and provision of clinical care and therapeutic interventions within a recovery framework
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with consumers and the interdisciplinary team to deliver contemporary evidence-based services.
  • Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
  • The Registered Nurse Community works within the Cultural Healing Team. The Cultural Healing Team provides triage and assessment in addition to case management services for adults 18-65 years of age, who are experiencing moderate to severe impairment in functioning due to mental illness and have difficulty accessing and maintaining social supports.

Salary between $3,348.80 and $4,295.40 p.f., employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 5) (Fixed term temporary position available until March 2027 with possibility of extension).
