About the role:

  • To develop robust clinical and interpersonal skills to maximise professional development with a view to independent practice or proceeding to specialist training.
  • Assistance with the teaching of students is an important adjunct to this role.
  • Rotations are available in Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care, Anaesthetics, Cardiology, General Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, Medical Oncology, Palliative Care, Rehabilitation Medicine, Renal Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, and Psychiatry.
  • Rotations are across four sites - Rockhampton, Gladstone, Emerald Hospitals and Capricorn Coast Hospitals.

About you:

  • MBBS or equivalent to enable registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) at Level 2 supervision.
    • If qualifications were obtained outside of Australia, the candidate must be eligible for registration with AHPRA and provide the following:
    • Evidence of successful completion of IELTS or equivalent English Language Test results within the last year,
    • Evidence of successful completion of AMC MCQ (Part 1) Examination,
    • Evidence of recency of clinical practice, at least 6 months in the last year, supported by current, clinical practice references.
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Current AHPRA general registration and a minimum of two years practice within the Australian healthcare system is preferred.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $127,366 p.a. is comprised of:

  • A salary rate between $102,556 - $110,112 p.a. (L2-L3)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
