As Queensland's work health and safety regulator, working for the Office of Industrial Relations is more than just a job. Our purpose is to improve work health and safety and reduce the risk of work-related fatalities, injuries and illness in Queensland.

We work with industry and assist businesses to create a safe and healthy culture in Queensland places of work.

We do this by:
- Making sure work health and safety laws are followed
- Investigating work-related fatalities and serious injuries
- Educating workplaces.

A vacancy currently exists within the WHSQ Compliance and Field Services Team for a Senior Inspector (Agriculture). This position can be based in Rockhampton, Gladstone, Emerald regions. Please indicate your preference in your application. You'll be part of a dynamic and diverse culture, working alongside supportive and passionate people to improve health and safety in Queensland's agriculture industry and workplaces and help make a real difference to the lives of Queensland employers, workers and their families.

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) enforce work health and safety laws, investigates workplace fatalities and serious injuries, prosecutes breaches of legislation and educates employees and employers on their legal obligations. We're responsible for improving work health  and safety in Queensland and helping to reduce the risk of workers being killed or   injured on the job.

As the Senior Inspector (Agriculture) within WHSQ you will be part of an efficient, flexible and responsive team that strives for safer workplaces.
Specific responsibilities are outlined in the position description for this role but some of your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct investigations of work incidents, injuries and complaints
- Produce reports and implement effective enforcement options
- Participate in the delivery of compliance campaigns (safety blitzes and industry  audits)
- Provide operational and specialist technical direction

This role will challenge and develop your ability to engage with stakeholders, partner and educate the community in safety matters and ensure compliance within a  regulatory framework.

Please note this position can be based in Rockhampton, Gladstone or Emerald.
