The role:
In the role of Project Support Officer (Development Control), you will contribute to the efficient delivery of the North Queensland Region's contribution to the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP) through the utilisation of a broad range of computer software programs and information management systems and databases to provide high level frontline support to project managers and/or team members, ensuring compliance with appropriate legislation, organisational policies and procedures.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
* Provide high-level administrative support, including managing records, maintaining data accuracy, and reviewing permit applications.
* Ensure timely completion of tasks in line with operational standards for activities such as road corridor permits, development applications, property searches and roadside signage assessments.
* Maintain databases, handle public inquiries, and provide advice on Development Control activities for state-controlled road networks.
* Act as the first point of contact for external stakeholders regarding third-party works in state-controlled road corridors.
* Support the Corridor Management team with tasks such as organising meetings, preparing reports, maintaining records and providing updates.
* Assist in developing local work practices to meet regional needs and ensure compliance with policies, legislation, and governance obligations.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions:
* A current Class ‘C' Drivers Licence
* Must be eligible to work in Australia.
* Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check and serious disciplinary action declaration will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
Desirable qualifications and conditions:
* Proficiency or ability to quickly learn software such as Microsoft Office Suite, eDAM, Mapinfo, QLD Global, DMS, Smartmap services, and DERM title search database.
