About the role
As a Senior Speech Pathologist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting older adults during a critical period of transition from hospital to home or longer-term care. Working predominantly in the community, you will provide advanced speech pathology services that promote functional recovery, optimise communication and swallowing outcomes, and enable informed decision-making for consumers and their families.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Deliver high-level speech pathology assessment, intervention and case management to a complex community-based caseload in CTCP.
- Apply independent professional judgement in non-routine clinical situations, adapting practice using contemporary evidence.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including nursing, allied health and support staff.
- Provide clinical supervision, education and mentoring to less experienced clinicians, assistants and students.
- Initiate, participate in and evaluate quality and service improvement activities.
