The purpose of this role is to assist scientific and technical staff in delivering high-quality, customer-focused pathology services through specimen collection, pre-analytical processing and laboratory support activities.

What you'll do

In this role you will collect diagnostic samples including blood specimens, process and prepare pathology samples, perform specimen reception and data entry tasks, support Central Specimen Reception workflows, maintain laboratory consumables and work areas, communicate with patients and clinical staff, assist scientific staff with laboratory duties, and contribute to quality improvement and accreditation activities within a 24/7 pathology service.

• Has experience in phlebotomy or specimen collection
• Can work accurately in a busy clinical environment
• Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Can follow procedures and work with minimal supervision
• Has strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Is flexible to work across a rotating roster and multiple sites
