What your day could look like
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you'll play a key role in supporting older people across the Darling Downs to stay independent, safe and connected to their community. From guiding complex clinical decisions to shaping how services evolve, your work will have a tangible impact on people's daily lives and on the teams you work with.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Delivering thoughtful, evidence‑based assessments and interventions that improve safety, function and independence
- Partnering with clients, families and multidisciplinary colleagues to achieve meaningful, goal‑driven outcomes
- Providing clinical leadership, supervision and mentoring that builds capability across the team
- Driving quality improvement initiatives that strengthen services and enhance care across the continuum
Let's Talk About You
You're someone who blends expertise with empathy. You bring compassion to complex situations, integrity to your decisions, and dignity to every interaction. You're comfortable working autonomously while knowing the power of collaboration, and you take pride in creating care that genuinely improves lives. Above all, you're motivated by making a difference for older people and supporting teams to deliver their best.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Full registration as an Occupational Therapist with the relevant national authority
- Strong experience delivering complex, evidence‑based care, ideally with older people or in community settings
- Confidence in clinical leadership, supervision and collaborative practice
- Excellent communication skills grounded in respect, curiosity and courage
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience in service improvement, reablement-focused care, rural or regional practice, and/or postgraduate or advanced professional development.
