Key responsibilities:
- Apply specialist-level environmental health knowledge, expertise and skills to develop evidence-based options and solutions to lead statewide health protection and regulatory systems and functions.
- Apply specialist level of knowledge and high-level technical skills in the implementation of environmental and public health principles and practices, including public health legislation and regulations that protect and promote public health.
- Prepare comprehensive written and oral reports and presentations on environmental health protection and regulatory systems, functions, and issues.

- Demonstrated specialist-level knowledge, expertise and skills in contemporary environmental health principles, systems and practice, and the proven ability to apply this expertise to lead statewide priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute actively to overall strategy and lead policy reform, driving innovation that contributes to improved environmental health outcomes at a statewide level.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, implement and manage investigations or research projects, and to critically analyse and present data to facilitate novel, complex evidence-based decisions and provide advice on core environmental health system issues to a range of audiences, including environmental health colleagues, senior managers and other stakeholders.
